OUR PARTNERS
The Questa concerts would not be as spectacular as they are without the army of people who form the unseen, backstage roles, primarily our tech crew and the fantastic venues where we are proud to perform.
Technical Department
Skrypt Ltd
Since our very first concert, we have been incredibly lucky to partner with Skrypt Ltd at every major concert and we wouldn't do one without them. They have transformed the venues we have performed in into ethereal and magical places with their lighting and they somehow make us sound good, despite our best efforts otherwise on occasion.
Months of planning and preparation go into each production to provide the most spectacular sound, light, video and special effects show alongside Questa Voce and Questa Musica. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the choir and orchestra always comment on what a pleasure it is to work with the Skrypt team at performances. They include professionals from the fields of dance, performance, costuming, engineering and technical, who work alongside names such as Boyzone, Barry Manilow and The X Factor Live Tour. They bring the same level of bonkers that is required to work with us, resulting in incredible experiences for the audience.
Our Resident Performance Venues
Lifecentre, Bournemouth
Questa Voce and Questa Musica are delighted to be resident at Lifecentre in Bournemouth. this stunning venue was opened as the Moderne Cinema in 1935, regarded as one of the finest original art deco cinemas in the country, designed by the same architect who had the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne built a year later. After decades as a cinema and bingo hall, it was eventually bought by Bournemouth Community Church and underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, giving it the feel of a brand new building whilst keeping all the original art deco features. After walking past the 20 metre specially commissioned mural in the entrance hallway, you can see one of the original projectors in the foyer, before heading to one of the multiple bars we have at our events (on both stalls and balcony levels).
Lifecentre is now a state-of-the-art space, capable of holding up to 1200 people in the audience. Frequently used as a conference venue, we are delighted to be the only performance group permanently resident in this spectacular venue. Supervised parking is always available for all our concerts in the nearby St John's School.
In addition to performing our major concerts at Lifecentre, we frequently perform in other spaces, including churches and major concert halls. As of 2016, we spend around half of our concerts in other venues, often touring the same concert to new places.
Mary Magdalene Church, New Milton
Since bringing our Elgar on Tour concert to New Milton in 2016, we have held a residency in the New Forest at Mary Magdalene Church since. We are always delighted by the fantastic audience reaction from the sell-out crowds we have.
The church tower dates from the 17th century and the rest of the church from around 1830. The acoustics lend themselves beautifully to vocal and orchestral works.
The church has a car park and concertgoers are also able to use the plumbing centre car park near the turning from the main road as an overflow. Please note that concerts in New Milton tend to sell out in advance of the performance; whilst we keep a small number of tickets for on-door sale, we can't guarantee there will be any available so please do book in advance.
Central Hall, Southampton
We are delighted to be bringing concerts to our new venue in Southampton as of 2017. This season, you can see Questa Musica there with Classical Favourites in May, and we are bringing Questa Voce Sings Christmas to Southampton in December!
